Is there any validity to precognitive dreaming?
Tricia Gunberg, Writing self help and spiritual content since 2014 ·
Short answer: YES
Long answer:
I am honing in on your word ‘validity’ which, according to Siri is, “the quality of being logically sound.” Precognitive dreaming is logical to me because it happens to me.
When I was younger, I would wake with the feeling that I needed to check on something. After a dream log assignment in high school I started remembering my dreams and would know what I needed to check on. This lead me to calling my mother because it was often a family member. I would casually ask how everything was as not to freak her out and she would say, “Did you have one your dreams again?” It was mind blowing to me; my catholic mother took my dreams as valid! To be honest, nothing ever earth shattering happened in my dreams or as a result. It seemed to me, I just needed to either connect with my mom or just connect with the person in my dream.
I go into more detail on one of more vivid dreams here: O is for Oracle
For me, my next questions were, “What is this dream ability for? What is the purpose?” Here we have the rub, I’ve been trying to answer this question for 15 or more years. But, let’s not discount the connecting with people part. If anything, I can be grateful for just this aspect. Connecting with my mother was/is important, period.
Having and accepting these dreams were the first step in accepting myself as an intuitive healer (I learned this about myself through Numerology). I could never have accepted that my mind could receive and understand valid, accurate and helpful information about others.
Here is an example if you are not familiar with my work:
While mediating on a client prior to her reading, I got the word ‘direction’. I was confused by this because my client expressed a need for the healing aspect of reiki and I assumed it was physical. During the reiki healing, I was directed to stop at her elbow. She shared with me that she has been having so much pain in that elbow that she has been avoiding exercise and even went to the doctor.
Random Google search on dream meaning of elbow: Elbow. The elbow represents the capacity for radical change in direction in what we do in our lives regarding our own path, our goals. It represents a professional change or one that concerns our objectives.
As defined by Louise Hay: Represents changing directions and accepting new experiences.
(You don’t even need to look it up if you remember how to signal a turn while riding your bike…its all about the elbow! )
I wish I could tell you what was going on with this client (too personal and I won’t do it) so you could fully understand how important this message was for her and how much validation she got from this simple word: direction. You’ll just have to trust me that this message was timely and very important. We received other information during the session and a clear approach to her next steps in healing.
None of this could have been possible, nor the other hundreds of people I have helped, if I had not decided that precognitive dreams were valid. More important than being able to connect with people and help others, is my ability to trust myself. Trusting my ability is present so I can support others, -this is so important, but trusting myself when I get information- well,
this is P R I C E L E S S.
Ultimately, what is most important:
Precognitive dreaming lead me to having a better relationship with myself.
Love and Light,
Tricia
